Responsibilities of ticketing agent
Reservation agents play an important role in assisting clients with booking their travel and accommodation, such as flights, hotel rooms, and vehicle rentals.
- Reservation agents assist airline customers with trip information over the phone.
- Generally, this information comprises trip planning, vehicle rentals, seat availability, cost estimates, itineraries, tours, meals, and other information pertinent to the customer’s flight arrangements.
- Most reservation sales representatives work in airline offices rather than airports.
- Experiences in customer service and computer literacy are advantageous for employment.
- Reservation sales agents must have great typing abilities, organizational skills, and the ability to operate under pressure. Airlines prefer candidates with at least one year of experience working with the public, ideally in sales.
- Airline reservations agents may advance to become senior airline agents, traffic, or sales professionals. Further education, including college degrees, may be required for advancement to some senior positions.
