Bucket list destination – St Ives, UK

St Ives is one of Cornwall’s most popular tourist destinations. It’s a cultural paradise for vacationers, with wonderful beaches, outstanding galleries, a magnificent harbour, and the loveliest boutiques and restaurants.

St. Ives is probably regarded as the most Caribbean-like location in the United Kingdom. Simultaneously, it keeps the authentic Cornish spirit, particularly in the port area.

  • Cornwall’s pride and biggest tourist draw are the golden beaches of St. Ives. Porthmeor Beach’s water quality is outstanding, and the sea surge is appropriate for surfing. The beaches at St Ives have beautiful sand and crystal blue water that are difficult to match anywhere in the vicinity.
  • Due to the Gulf Stream impact and southern location, the climate of Cornwall, and particularly St. Ives, is the most pleasant and sunny in the UK. Cornwall’s southernmost point is in a subtropical climatic zone.
  • St. Ives is a friendly spot for walkers. St. Ives is the best place in Cornwall for hiking, with miles of gorgeous, well-marked paths, magnificent scenery, and maritime panoramas.
  • Seal Island, about 3.5 miles west of St Ives, is home to a colony of grey seals. The journey down the coast is half the fun of this tour, with stunning views of Porthmeor Beach, The Island, and the rocky Cornish coast. Visitors to Seal Island may go very close to the seals and generally enjoy the landscape.
  • The town’s primary feature has traditionally been St Ives Harbour. This is the area around which the town grew, as it is in most harbour towns.
  • St Ives is famed for its New Year’s Eve celebrations; the town fills to capacity, people dress up in costumes, and a massive party is held each year.
