One of the dreamiest spots in the world – Cappadocia

Cappadocia is the land of fairy tales, so look no further for the top things to do in Cappadocia!

Turkey is home to some of the world’s most remarkable natural and historical attractions. Cappadocia, in particular, is globally famous and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

  • Take a sunrise hot air balloon flight – one of the factors Cappadocia has become so famous for hot air ballooning is that wind and thermal conditions are so good, which means you will be flying over the most picturesque scenery on most days.
  • Stay in a cave hotel – people flock to Cappadocia from all over Turkey and the rest of the globe to enjoy the thrill of hot air balloon flights and sleeping in a real-life cave hotel. Cappadocia’s cave hotels are far more magnificent and resemble something out of a fairy-tale.
  • Explore the Village of Göreme – the village lies half-buried into the hill, it’s stone building facades concealing a labyrinth of cave rooms beneath.
  • Go to the Zelve Open-Air Museum – the open-air museum has some of the most remarkable churches in the region, including Dark, Sandal, and Apple, as well as various monastery structures. You may visit and wander about these ancient sites since they are built directly into the landscape.

A series of volcanic eruptions jolted the Central Anatolian region three to four million years ago, building what we now call the Cappadocia fairies or ‘Cotton Castles.’

Cappadocia is home to a variety of underground cities, some of which are linked by a network of tunnels. The pliability of the fragile sandstone allowed for these underground colonies. Many are available to tourists, while much of the land in the region is privately owned.

Cappadocia is a must-see place on your trip list!
