Strangest places on the planet

Our planet is a fascinating place. Every location on Earth has its own distinct characteristics. Some qualities are not only distinctive, but also strange to our human thinking. Take a look at the strangest places in global history:

  • Lake Natron, Africa – looking for some weird places in the world, how about this terrifying lake? Animals which die in an African lake are calcified and turned into sculptures. They become mummies because to the presence of massive amounts of sodium bicarbonate. The lake appears red, especially during the summer months in Tanzania.
  • The Tianzi mountains, China – affords breath-taking vistas of peaks that climb one after the other. It is dubbed “the Monarch of the Peak Forest.” Visitors may see the whole Wulingyuan Scenic Area from the mountain’s summit. Beautiful alpine scenery greets travellers throughout the year.
  • Lake Hillier, Western Australia – the lake’s greatest distinguishing characteristic is its vivid pink colour. The brilliant colour is persistent and does not fade when placed in a jar. The presence of the organism Dunaliella salina is thought to be responsible for the pink colour.
  • Eternal Flame Falls, USA – small waterfall in the state of New York. The waterfall got its name from a simple occurrence – a natural gas leak close under the falls that happened to be burning. When the water flow is high, it rushes over the cave, concealing the flame and shading the light like a lampshade. Eternal Flame Falls is definitely one of the most distinctive waterfalls in the world.
